\ Some of the message board denizens have frothed at the mouth about getting redshirt freshman tailback Da’Rel Scott into a game sometime soon. Nevermind that he’s never played a college down, or that tailback Keon Lattimore is one of the few things that is unquestionably working for Maryland. \

\ Well, these folks are likely to get their wish in at least a limited capacity. Coach Ralph Friedgen was asked if Scott would figure into things when the Terrapins play at Wake Forest on Saturday.\

\ “I’m hoping he is,” Friedgen said. “I’m probably going to put him on kickoff return and see how he does there. I’d like to try to get him in the game. He’s had a good week of practice. He’s starting to have less and less mistakes. I had a little package for him last week. I probably lost my guts. Sooner or later I have to go. I think the kid’s gotta get some experience and we need to see what he can do. It’s tough when Keon’s playing so well. I’d hate to take him out.”\

\ I asked if that meant Scott had moved ahead of Morgan Green in the battle of redshirt freshman who battled nagging injuries throughout camp.\

\ “Right now, he is,” Ralph said. “Morgan has this hamstring that’s been lingering and lingering. We didn’t even take Morgan to FIU and he still wasn’t 100 percent last week. I think he’s better this week. Da’Rel got well and better earlier than Morgan did, not that I’m down on Morgan, either.”\
