Indecision ‘08 continues in College Park.

Chris Turner was 8-for-16 for 124 yards and a pick in last night’s scrimmage. Jordan Steffy was 9-for-13 for 63 yards and an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Josh Portis was 3-for-8 for 100 yards and a touchdown – with a lot of those yards coming after the catch by Ronnie Tyler on a 63-yard scoring play.

Here’s the word from Ralph Friedgen on making a call in the next couple days.

“Even if it’s wrong, we have to do something,” Friedgen said. “I think we have to start getting ready. I’m really think we have three quarterbacks who can play and it wouldn’t surprise me if all three of them play during the season. That wouldn’t shock me in the least. What we have to do is get one we can win with and hopefully we can with all three of them.”

The star offensively was Davin Meggett (12 carries, 157 yards, two touchdowns), who had runs of 74 and 49. Defensively, Michael Carter picked off two passes and Moise Fokou had three sacks.

Fullback Cory Jackson twisted an ankle, but otherwise Maryland escaped without more than bruises and scrapes. Linemen Scott Burley (shoulder) and Jaimie Thomas (stinger) sat out. And Friedgen said redshirt freshman Taylor Watson is still two-to-three weeks away from returning from a clavicle injury.

So that’s the long and the short of it. I’ll have more of a wrap-up tomorrow morning. But for now, it’s time to drive home.
