Some quick hits for a Saturday morning.

* Don Markus of the Baltimore Sun writes about starting tailback Da’Rel Scott.

* In lacrosse land, Inside Lacrosse reports Maryland assistant Andrew Copelan is close to coming to an agreement to become the head coach at Fairfield.

* For Navy fans: Looks like Louisiana Tech is on the schedule for 2009 and 2010. Not quite sure how that impacts the games Navy has set against Temple (Sept. 12, 2009) and Delaware (Sept. 18, 2010) tentatively set for those dates.

* Maryland soccer wound up losing the unofficial Gus Gilchrist Invitational 2-1 to South Florida, with the Bulls scoring twice in a 30-second span late in the exhibition.

The greater issue was midfielder Graham Zusi’s ankle or foot injury. Coach Sasho Cirovski said Zusi would have x-rays done this morning to determine the extent of the damage.
