Maryland escapes without too many injuries

OK, a quick injury rundown now that I’ve filed for the dead-tree edition:

Quarterback Jordan Steffy had an injured right thumb, which was why he was yanked at the start of the fourth quarter. From the press box, you could see him sitting on an equipment trunk as an athetic trainer examined his hand.

Elsewhere, guard Jaimie Thomas was in and out with a neck problem acting up on him. Maryland used eight offensive linemen, with Phil Costa playing both guard positions. Bruce Campbell played plenty at left tackle and Paul Pinegar got a brief look at right tackle.

Wideout Torrey Smith cramped up a bit as well.

More to come before packing up at Byrd.
