I always find it funny when Ralph Friedgen gets a microphone at halftime of a basketball game.

Not entirely sure why. It’s not like he’s comedic or any different than normal.

I just do.

It’s not quite as funny as Ron Vanderlinden promising to bring home an ACC title (a HA! in retrospect to that, which was actually before my time on campus). But still funny.

Anyway, here’s what Ralph just had to say to the crowd after thanking students for their support at home game this season:

“I know it’s a tough trip, but if you like to sleigh ride, toboggan and ski, come on out,” Friedgen said. “If not, please watch on TV. We’ve had a great week of practice. These seniors and I really appreciate your support.

When your coach quickly acknowledges the game (in this case, the Dec. 30 Humanitarian Bowl) is so far away it’s “a tough trip,” you know it won’t be easy to get to.

And that won’t change no matter Friedgen’s well-meaning pleas.
