PHILADELPHIA – This one ended just about perfectly.

Ram Vela brought back an interception 68 yards with 31 seconds remaining, re-inforcing the dominance of Navy’s defense in a 34-0 bludgeoning of Army.

That’s now 131:17 scoreless minutes for the Navy defense, and seven straight victories over Army.

It’s tough to believe any of the previous six were quite so lopsided.

The only thing that went right for Army was Collin Mooney’s 1-yard dive on the final play, which earned him the school’s single-season rushing record. Mooney finished with 1,339 yards, one more than Mike Mayweather had in 1990.

The MVP of today’s game – just announced here in the press box – was slotback Shun White. He and his teammates are off to the Dec. 20 EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium, where the Mids (8-4) will likely play Wake Forest.

Heading down to postgame now. I’ll have more from today’s festivities in a little bit.
