PHILADELPHIA – The benefit of being at Army-Navy is not getting to see much of the fourth meeting between Boston College and Virginia Tech in about 14 months.

But as it stands now, the Hokies will be off to the Orange Bowl, the Eagles will tumble as far as possible, and Maryland will be Boise-bound.

Virginia Tech is up 14-0 on a pair of Tyrod Taylor touchdown runs. Virginia Tech already has 79 yards rushing against the staunch front seven of Boston College, and things are looking good for now.

Boston College will almost certainly land in the Music City Bowl with a loss. Florida State would likely go to Orlando, North Carolina to Charlotte and Miami to San Francisco, setting up Maryland to go to the Humanitarian Bowl and Wake Forest to the EagleBank Bowl.

Assuming, of course, the Hokies hold on.
