Now my trip to Boise is official.

The flight is set. So is the hotel. And the rental car.

(My New Year’s Eve plans are also set: Sleeping after flying home for much of the day)

Also determined is an ambiguous prize for whoever wins the D1scourse Bowl Challenge (click here, and use group # 1417, password: iwantin).

It is my promise that the first prize for the bowl challenge will be some sort of blue field memorabilia from Boise. I have to believe it can’t be that hard to come up with some sort of blue turf novelty, but I guess I’ll find out in the next few weeks.

As of now, there’s only about a dozen and a half participants, and I’d love to expand this into something much, much bigger.

So feel free to sign up. Pass this along to friends if you so choose. Post it on message boards. Whatever. The interest in the Smurf Turf can’t be contained to merely the two fan bases consigned to watch a second-tier game between 7-5 teams two days before New Year’s.
