ANNAPOLIS – It sure looks like Navy’s bowl eligibility will have to wait for another day.
Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele has hooked up with Bruce Francis for a pair of 49-yard touchdown passes, and the Owls just picked off reserve QB Ricky Dobbs and brought it back into Navy territory.
Temple begins the fourth quarter on the precipice of the red zone, and there’s not much reason to think Navy can overcome a three-possession deficit at this juncture. Since scoring on their opening drive, the Mids have managed to go punt, punt, blocked field goal, punt, punt, interception.
A field goal here might just about do it for the Owls, who are looking like an increasingly good bet for bowl eligibility before the season is up.
