That just happened at Byrd, where Dewey Schmitt almost launched his punt snap int orbit. It sailed well over punter Travis Baltz, who was fortunate to cover up the ball in the end zone for a safety.

On the bright side for Maryland, Da’Rel Scott ran for 14 yards on his first carry – surpassing his entire production last week.

Baltz now gets his chance to punt again. Of course, it’s a free kick, and Carolina should get pretty decent field position.
