The D1scourse Challenge’s Big Bag of Bowl Graft added a “National College Football Day” pin to its collection this week.

And the Average Joe’s turned in the best week out of anyone, missing only one game (Northwestern-Minnesota) to pull within 29 points of first place.

That’s one of a dozen teams within 40 points of the lead, which is realistically about how close you need to be with just five weeks remaining to make a serious title push.

A Fridge Too Far still remains up front with 1,528 points, with your humble blogger and Maryland beat writer just three points back. Another three points behind is deterpfan.

As far as prizes for this go, I’m thinking it is only fair to expand this to about three prizes overall, with first- and second-place getting their choice among the big bag of bowl graft, a book on the stack defense written by Ron Vanderlinden and perhaps some other goodie I pick up in the coming weeks.

I’m still open to suggestions on prize ideas; feel free to pass them along.
