Nicholson produced the first defensive points against Maryland since Georgia Tech’s Darrell Robertson had a 32-yard fumble return for a score last year. The last Seminole to score a defensive TD against the Terps was Antonio Cromartie, who brought an interception back 40 yards in 2004.
That was precisely the sort of mistake Maryland hasn’t made this season – and can ill afford to yield to a team as talented as Florida State.
It’s not an impossible task to erase a 14-point deficit. But since the Seminoles will soon receive a boost from the arrival of Rhodes Scholarship winner (and safety) Myron Rolle, things are not looking terribly great for Maryland.
