Gameday EagleBank Bowl tracking: Part II

Just a quick run through the conference at halftime of the early games…

… The Wahoo-Cat formation is working well for Virginia, which has deployedVic Hall at quarterback to impressive results. The Cavaliers are tied 14-14 with Virginia Tech, and you might as well pencil in the Cavaliers to the EagleBank Bowl if they win today. Not officially, mind you, but it makes waaaaay too much sense to not add a second local team to the mix (along with Navy) if it is even remotely possible.

* Though not EagleBank Bowl-related, Georgia Tech is getting handled at Georgia. Try again next year, Jackets – and don’t doubt for a second they will be better positioned to do so in Atlanta in ‘09.

* Clemson is ensuring a ninth bowl-eligible team will be available for D.C., hammering South Carolina 24-7. Gotta think Orlando, Nashville, Charlotte and San Francisco are all possibilities for the Tigers.

* N.C. State has a 17-14 lead on Miami in Raleigh; the Wolfpack is eligible for a bowl with a victory.
