Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer wasn’t talking expansively about his quarterbacks today, which comes as no surprise. The Hokies have closed practice to the media this week, and there’s no reason to think a veteran coach is going to slip and let something out under those circumstances on a teleconference.

Sure enough, Beamer didn’t.

Here’s pretty much the entirety of his remarks on Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon and their matching left ankle injuries.

“Our two quarterbacks, Tyrod and Sean, have gotten some work in practice,” Beamer said. “They’re listed as questionable and that’s all I’m going to say about our quarterbacks.”

Beamer wasn’t kidding. When a reporter asked about the comfort level of things being a game-time decision – and at this point, it should be assumed that’s when most people will find out who’s starting – Beamer repeated he wasn’t saying anything else about quarterbacks.

So there it is. Status quo in Blacksburg. And it’s absolutely no surprise at all.
