Maryland linebacker Adrian Moten missed the last three games after undergoing wrist surgery.
From the sounds of things, he’ll be back Thursday at Virginia Tech.
While coach Ralph Friedgen remained cautious in providing many details about tailback Da’Rel Scott and linebacker Dave Philistin – both questionable with shoulder injuries – he wasn’t shy about mentioning Moten.
The sophomore isn’t hard to find at practice; he’s the guy causing havoc with a club-like cast.
“Moten’s in a black shirt, but a lot of the offensive guys think he ought to be in a red shirt because they’re not hitting him but he’s hitting them,” Friedgen said. “He kind of sneaks up on them with that cast. I think he’s anxious to play myself. We’ve tried to not hit him, and he’s going full speed. He might as well be full speed the way I see it.”
Moten will probably pop up on the Terps’ injury report later today in some capacity, but at this point you’d have to consider him the best bet to play extensively among Scott, Philistin and defensive end Mack Frost.
