Ah, the best laid plans…

It was my hope to lead Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen into a bit of a discussion of some players whose roles would grow in the next few weeks, especially after a bye.


It’s not his fault when the question comes out a bit wobbly. So when I mentioned both left tackle Bruce Campbell and cornerback Cameron Chism, Ralph agreed succinctly they would play more.

The follow up was only slight better: “Campbell in particular?”

“Campbell in particular,” Ralph repeated, more declarative than inquisitive.

So there’s a semi-useful shred of information, gleaned in a rather bumbling, poorly worded way on my part.

Just doing my job.
