Had this tidbit passed along to me earlier today, but with the hefty schedule I didn’t get to it until now.

Basically, it’s the fact there is a gambling website (BetOnline.com) that apparently lists odds of the next coach likely to be fired.

While this is somewhat of a ghoulish endeavor, I’m not the first writer to find out about this. Out in Seattle, Ty Willingham’s status as the “favorite” at 2-1 was mentioned by a Washington beat writer.

Among the other coaches listed: Tennessee’s Phil Fulmer (5:2), Pittsburgh’s Dave Wannstedt(3:1), Arizona’s Mike Stoops (4:1), Virginia’s Al Groh (4:1) and Kansas State’s Ron Prince (5:1).

How any such list doesn’t include Syracuse’s Greg Robinson is beyond me, unless the Orange’s program is considered a success because of how popular “The Express” is in theaters.

Of course, I’m not going to challenge karma and lay down any money on who will be the next man to receive a seven-figure golden parachute to depart a scuffling program. But if anyone else wants to, feel free.

Chances are, we’ll have an answer to the “Who’s Next?” question all too soon.
