Saturday brings the opportunity for a Maryland athletics two-for-one.

Of course, there is the football game at 3:30 p.m. against N.C. State. And since it’s not televised by, well, a real television entity rather than a broadband-only broadcast, actually going to the game is probably the more convenient for some people rather than upgrading their internet service.

Some people.

Anyway, there’s a basketball scrimmage beforehand at Comcast Center. I’m told it will start at 12:15 p.m., and should provide a far better window into how well Maryland is looking than the glorified pick-up game held during Midnight Maryland Madness.

These football game day basketball scrimmages are typically open to the public, so anyone interested in how Greivis Vasquez has rebounded from ankle surgery, how much weight Braxton Dupree has lost and how much of an impact Sean Mosley could have this season should be able to get that chance.

And that is a fine tuneup for anyone curious as to which version of the Bizarro Terps show up a few hours later.
