Just noticed something while scanning through Maryland’s stats that caught my eye.

Da’Rel Scott now has as many pass attempts as Josh Portis this season.

That would be two.

This is by no means a plea for more Portis passing; it would be foolish for Maryland to yank Chris Turner if he’s going to produce performances like Saturday’s.

But if I’d said in the final week of August Maryland’s starting tailback would have as many completions and attempts and more yards and touchdown tosses than its “freakish athlete” with his own package at quarterback, I suspect I could have milked plenty of money out of a lot of people with some friendly wagers.
