It’s N.C. State week, so that means thinking back to one of Maryland’s best moments from last year.

It wasn’t just that the Terrapins blitzed the Wolfpack to become bowl eligible. It’s that quarterback Chris Turner showed off his speed while ripping off a long run in the first half.

“I used to watch it all the time,” Turner said. “I’m not going to lie. I show my friends. They say ‘There’s no way you’re getting 40 yards’ and I say ‘No, watch.’ I’m going to have to run with the wind this week.”

It’s fitting that, with Turner’s sense of humor, the 40-yard dash down the sideline at Carter-Finley Stadium would become one of his YouTube staple. But this is a guy who has engineered five victories over ranked teams in his career, so he has a few clips to choose from.

This, though, is particularly special.

“That’s probably the highlight of my career, by far,” Turner said.

Obviously, he hasn’t rattled off any other runs quite like that. But with lousy weather expected tomorrow, might he have to reprise his role as surprise runner?

“We’ll see,” Turner said. “I’m not sure yet.”

If not, he’ll always have his YouTube clip.
