Just following up on the entry from last Monday on the ACC football games ensnared in the six-day ABC/ESPN window.

* Virginia Tech at North Carolina, which is really one of the most intriguing games nationally, will start at 3:30 p.m. and be on regionally on ABC (and, in out-of-market areas, possibly ESPN).

* The same is true of Miami at Texas A&M – it’s in that 3:30 ABC/ESPN.

* Original Hog Doc Walker will be extolling the virtues of the chicken in the Bobby Dodd Stadium press box. That’s because he’ll be in Atlanta calling the Mississippi State-Georgia Tech game for Raycom.

Despite the pleas of the under-30 set, Maryland’s game against Eastern Michigan is still a 1 p.m. kickoff.

Meanwhile, the Sept. 27 kickoffs will be released tomorrow. And with North Carolina-Miami and Colorado-Florida State lurking as appealing options in the ACC’s TV contract, the Maryland-Clemson game might be the best option for a noon Raycom or ESPN kickoff. And as someone with an 8:30 a.m.-ish flight home from Charlotte on Sunday, that would sit very well indeed.
