Nolan Carroll was not listed on Maryland’s injury report this week.

But lo and behold, the junior cornerback sitting on Maryland’s bench with a boot on his left foot.

Hmmm. That’s curious. Unless he got hurt on his way home from practice Thursday, this seems like a fine time to point out the conference’s injury report policy is easily being turned into a sham.

One other thing Carroll’s injury means: We’ll almost certainly see Cameron Chism on defense plenty today.

Toss in senior Richard Taylor’s knee injury – which appears to be of the season-ending variety – and Chism will probably be a vital part of the secondary for some time to come.
