I go away for a few days, and suddenly my broadband card struggles to work even remotely well at home.

That makes tasks like this infinitely more difficult than they need to be.

Anyway, the tasks can still get done. And so it was for rapping out this dead-tree story on quarterback Chris Turner, who turned in his third straight solid (if not especially spectacular on Saturday) game when Maryland dumped then-No. 20 Clemson on Saturday.

Elsewhere:

* The Baltimore Sun’s Jeff Barker writes that a lot went wrong in the first half at Clemson, but that Maryland still managed to rally.

* As for this week’s opponent, Jeff White of the Richmond Times-Dispatch writes that 1-3 Virginia is not having the season it envisioned – especially after losing 31-3 at Duke on Saturday.

More, perhaps, to come later.
