BALTIMORE – Just wrapping up here at Homewood, but wanted to pass along the vital news of the day from College Park.
Namely, that tailback Da’Rel Scott and cornerback Nolan Carroll were both hurt on the same play – with Scott’s knee colliding with Carroll’s helmet.
Carroll was down on the field for 10 minutes, and will spend tonight in a hospital. He apparently suffered a concussion and is probably done for the spring.
Meanwhile, Scott suffered an ACL sprain and is almost certainly through for spring ball. Figure on Davin Meggett and Morgan Green to receive the bulk of the No. 1 work in next week’s spring game.
From the sounds of things, neither is a long-term issue, and that’s about the best thing Maryland could hear from what sounds like a particularly unlucky play.
