Lacrosse land: This week's top 25

This weekend’s biggest winner in college lacrosse – as tomorrow’s bracketology will demonstrate fully – was Cornell.

The Big Red can become the first team into the NCAA field with a victory Saturday after knocking off Princeton this weekend.

Ultimately, the Big Red has lost to the two teams who should be ranked 1-2, and owns victories over Princeton and Duke. That makes them a credible top-five team – or in this ballot, a little bit better than that:

1. Virginia (13-1)
2. Syracuse (10-2)
3. Cornell (9-2)
4. Notre Dame (12-0)
5. Princeton (10-2)
6. Duke (10-3)
7. Johns Hopkins (6-4)
8. North Carolina (10-4)
9. Maryland (8-5)
10. Hofstra (9-2)
11. Loyola (8-4)
12. UMBC (9-3)
13. Navy (9-4)
14. Brown (11-2)
15. Georgetown (6-6)
16. Massachusetts (7-4)
17. Bucknell (8-6)
18. Colgate (9-4)
19. Harvard (6-5)
20. Penn State (7-5)

21. Albany (7-5)
22. Bryant (9-5)
23. Stony Brook (7-4)
24. Villanova (9-4)
25. Towson (6-7)
