Don’t know about you, but I for one will be glad when the college football season starts in two weeks.

A big reason? There will unquestionably be no more watch lists.

But since they keep coming out, it doesn’t hurt to mention them.

And there’s two of note this morning:

* Maryland tailback Da’Rel Scottlanded on the Maxwell Award list, one of 55 players included nationally.

(As a side note, Virginia Tech tailback Darren Evans – he of the torn ACL – is also on the list. This likely sets a record for speed in which a watch list was out of date: The second it was released).

* In what qualifies as the most liberal watch list of the month, the Lombardi Award for the top college lineman has placed 153 players on its initial offering.

Among the notable names: Maryland linebacker Alex Wujciak; Navy linebacker Ross Pospisil and defensive end Jabari Tuani; Virginia Tech tight end Greg Boone, guard Sergio Render and defensive end Jason Worilds.
