An e-mail just landed from the ACC delineating the full academic all-conference football team.
Both a 3.0 fall semester GPA and a 3.0 cumulative GPA is required, and Maryland landed eight guys on the 40-man team.
For as much as coach Ralph Friedgen talks about how tough the school is, here’s guessing we’ll hear about this accomplishment a few more times.
Here’s the list of Terps who made the team, with major included (*-in grad school last semester):
P Travis Baltz (business)
LB Rick Costa (criminal justice)
G Phil Costa (criminal justice)
K Obi Egekeze (international business)
TE Dan Gronkowski* (MBA)
DT Dean Muhtadi* (MBA)
T Dane Randolph* (health services)
C Edwin Williams* (sports management)
(EDIT at 3:45 p.m.: I’m told Randolph is technically in the public health informatics program, which (a) sounds even more daunting than “health services” and (b) an intriguing and quite fitting choice of a program for the worldly offensive lineman).
