Maybe Jin Soo Kim should have eligibility battles all the time.

SEE RELATED:

Well, that’s a little cruel, given that the freshman’s season is more than a little topsy-turvy just because of his clearinghouse issues and now his brief academic eligibility problems in the last week.

Of course, he dropped 20 in an exhibition game a few days after being cleared to practice. And he scored five crucial points in eight minutes Saturday against Miami.

Here’s the three stretches Kim played tonight:

* Entered with Maryland down 22-20 with 4:49 left in the first half. Had a dunk about a minute later, and left at the 1:11 mark with the Terps up 27-24. Scoring while he was in:Maryland 7-2.

* Entered with 14:11 left in the second half and Maryland up 36-33. Almost immediately hit a 3-pointer and left at the 10:19 mark with the Terps up 47-36. Scoring while he was in: Maryland 11-3.

* Entered with 9:36 left with Maryland up 49-39. Left with 9:15 left and the score the same
