ANNAPOLIS – Thought I’d squeeze an extra game in tonight, especially after forgetting to get myself credentialed for Boise State-Eastern Washington while I was out in Idaho.  Going a week during the season without some sort of game is hardly any fun at all.

Figured the trip over to Annapolis wouldn’t be a hard one, and sure enough it beats sitting at home for the night. But in a bit of a disappointment, Wofford is without leading scorer Junior Salters, who I’m told suffered a strained gluteus during practice.

The Terriers have hung in well, but two guys for Navy who have stood our are O.J. Avworo and Clif Colbert. Both guards have eight points, and having seen the Mids now four times, it’s fair to say the sooner they can find consistent scoring from folks besides Kaleo Kina, Chris Harris and Adam Teague, the better off they’ll be in chasing a Patriot League title.

Avworo’s started at point guard all season, and he’s yet to score in double figures. Perhaps that comes tonight, but he seems more in control than in a sampling of games earlier in the season. Navy was +13 with him on the floor in the first half, a far better margin than any of his teammates.

I’ll have a few nuggets from this game a bit later.
