Just a little programming note on the final day of my two months of (supposed) down time.

The ACC Kickoff gets underway in Greensboro, N.C., tomorrow afternoon, and there will be opportunities to talk to players from all 12 teams. Maryland will be represented by quarterback Chris Turner and cornerback Nolan Carroll. Coaches interviews come on Monday. Clearly, the blog will be overflowing with tidbits (and have material for days to come).

Given that things will be busy, the plan is to shelve the college football countdown both days before resuming it on Tuesday. There’s eight installments left, and they should all be unveiled by the end of the first week in August.

Also going on a brief hiatus: The Maryland positional previews. Most of them are already up, with running backs, wideouts and quarterbacks still to go. Expect to see them all on the blog by the end of next week.

Barring anything crazy, that’s it for today. Lots to do – laundry, packing luggage, preparing for the (limited) media guide lugging – and not much time to do it. I’ll check back from the road tomorrow.
