And there goes an at-large spot.

Say goodbye to Butler, Horizon League champ.

Say hello to Butler, at-large team and bubble spoiler.

The Bulldogs lost at home to Cleveland State, knocking an extra team out of the field.

For now, that team is Saint Mary’s. But it’ll make it harder for the Miamis and Marylands and South Carolinas of the world; those teams still have to win, but there’s one less spot for the taking because Butler (26-5, 12-3 vs. the RPI top 100) will rightfully be in the field.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame stays right where it was on the list (down a spot, obviously, with Butler’s addition). The Irish was supposed to beat Rutgers; they can make a jump with another victory or two, however.
