Halftime: Maryland 34, California 31

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Maryland is halfway to a date with Memphis in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Not that it’s overwhelming. Greivis Vasquez has 11 points for the Terrapins, and Maryland isn’t shooting especially well (11-for-33) in the first half.

Still, they’re not getting killed from long-range (Cal is 2-for-7), and no one other than Jerome Randle (11 points) looks especially potent.

Basically, it’s a 7/10 game. Chances are, things will stay close for much of the rest of the afternoon.
