A loyal reader asked this week exactly what was meant by the “On the Margins” section in the at-large board.

Put simply, it’s basically an extra way to be thorough. It ensures just about any team worthy of consideration is mentioned, and in fact includes some rather lousy teams that probably shouldn’t be mentioned.

If anyone’s curious as to the next best team on the board, it’s probably Tulsa. Maybe Temple. Or perhaps UAB.

Either way, it’s not an at-large team. And as some of the teams at the bottom of the board completely fall apart (and odds are a couple will in the next week), the at-large board will simply shrink on that end as a few extra teams pop up as a result of conference tournament upsets.

This should hold up for the next 24 hours. Look for another at-large board on Sunday morning once another round of carnage occurs to the middle to bottom of this list in the next day or so.
