HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Game two here at Hofstra was every bit as ugly as game one.
It was plenty pretty for Cornell, which outlasted Princeton 6-4 to earn a final four berth for the second time in three years.
The Big Red dominated faceoffs, dominated groundballs, dominated possession and … well, dominated a suddenly punchless Princeton team.
Cornell will get the winner of Virginia-Johns Hopkins in the semifinals next Saturday in Foxboro(ugh). That bodes well for top-seeded Virginia, which handled the Big Red 14-10 a couple months ago in Charlottesville.
