Dupree to Towson

If there was a surprise scale of 1 to 10, Braxton Dupree’s landing spot after transferring from Maryland rates at about a minus-3.

The big man is off to Towson – extremely close to Calvert Hall, where he went to high school – and he will have two years of eligibility left with the Tigers.

It’s probably the best fit for Dupree, who came in heralded as the centerpiece of the Terrapins’ five-man class in 2007 but just never panned out.

Unlike some guys on the move, Dupree had opportunities to start at Maryland in a couple seasons, but found his playing time decrease as both his freshman and sophomore seasons unfolded. Still, he’s going to get another chance, and that’s obviously good for him.
