When I think of “Toledo” and “football,” my typical word association is “point shaving.”

That’s because the Rockets’ green glare has been in the news of late. Well, that and also because Toledo hasn’t been especially good at games involving oblong spheroids of late.

But since this is a D.C.-centric blog, point shaving and bad football in a town that I fondly consider the best place to crash to avoid staying in Detroit while on a ballpark road trip typically wouldn’t warrant a mention.

But the thing is, Navy and Toledo just inked a home-and-home football deal for 2013 and 2015, so that makes the Land of the Mud Hens worthy of discussion.

OK, not a whole ton, since that’s five seasons down the road. But it is worth a mention, if only because it’s the middle of May and the amount of football discussion is probably going to be limited to little snippets like this for a while.
