A notable scene from this afternoon’s press conference was some Maryland players passing through the dining hall to take note of the uniforms they’ll wear Nov. 14.

Under Armour and the Wounded Warrior Project are sponsoring camouflage uniforms for both Maryland and South Carolina for that date (which happens to be the closest Saturday to Veterans Day).

Both teams will wear cleats and jerseys to make the occasion, and Maryland announced today it would auction off jerseys worn during the game, with proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.

One notable item about the jerseys – rather than last names, one of several words – Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country or Service – will be placed on the back of the uniform.

Certainly, the players who will wear those threads were intrigued. And judging from how popular a similar set of uniforms were last year at the Army-Navy game (check out this link for a reminder), it will generate some interest from fans as well.
