GW picked 13th in Atlantic 10

George Washington missed the Atlantic 10 tournament the last two years.

Clearly, not too many folks following that conference expect the Colonials to get there this season, either.

GW was picked 13th in the 14-team league in a poll of head coaches and selected media, ahead of only Fordham. Dayton took the top spot, with perennial top-25 team Xavier in second. Richmond was picked third.

It definitely looks much different from the middle of the decade; Duquesne and La Salle are in the top half of the expected order, while GW and Saint Joseph’s are closer to the bottom.

The full rundown, courtesy of the Atlantic 10, with first-place votes in parentheses:

1. Dayton (33)
2. Xavier (18)
3. Richmond (4)
4. La Salle (2)
5t. Duquesne
5t. Temple
7. Charlotte
8. Rhode Island
9. Massachusetts
10. Saint Joseph’s
11. St. Bonaventure
12. Saint Louis
13. George Washington
14. Fordham
