What appears to be a capacity (and then some) crowd here in College Park has yet to see a goal.

No matter, there was enough entertainment for 45 minutes.

It is precisely the sort of game Maryland coach Sasho Cirovski would like to see in such a high-profile, nationally televised setting. Both Maryland and North Carolina have attacked, and there have been very few spurts in which the teams were content to play in the middle of the field.

Maryland keeper Zac MacMath has been busier, and North Carolina forward Billy Schuler put a pair of shots on goal in a five-minute span.

It’s still surprising neither team has gotten on the board. In the early stages of the half, it seemed it could be the sort of night that yielded a 3-2 score – one way or another.

But so far, nothing. No matter. At this point, whoever leaves with the outright conference lead tonight will have earned it.
