Breunig, a native of Germany who averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Wisconsin last season, is the third member of Maryland’s recruiting class.

Guards Nick Faust and Sterling Gibbs signed with the Terps in November.

Bruenig gives Maryland either 11 or 12 scholarship players next season, depending on whether forward Jordan Williams opts to remain in school or depart for the NBA. Williams entered the NBA Draft but has not signed with an agent and can withdraw before May 8.
