Maryland wide receiver Nigel King has yet to practice this spring while dealing with an NCAA clearinghouse issue.

King, who enrolled in the spring, missed Maryland’s first three practices according to coach Randy Edsall.

“It’s just a matter of the clearinghouse clearing him with all the paperwork from high school,” Edsall said. “That’s the only thing. … Hopefully everything will wind up getting cleared up in the next week.”

King, a Raleigh, N.C., native, had 38 receptions for 732 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior at Oak Ridge Military Academy. He is one of several receivers who will have a chance to compete for playing time after the departures of Torrey Smith and Adrian Cannon, who combined for 103 of Maryland’s 219 receptions in 2010.
