Maryland’s bench was plus-54 in 66 combined minutes in Wednesday’s defeat of Florida State.
That’s rather efficient.
Most notably, Adrian Bowie (+23) and Pe’Shon Howard (+21) were on the floor for most of the Terrapins’ best stretches.
That’s not new for Howard. But it was a particularly solid development for Bowie, whose play of late was lethargic enough for him for coach Gary Williams to bring him off the bench after starting the senior in 25 of the first 26 games.

On the flip side, it was a particularly rough game for senior Cliff Tucker, who established a season low in minutes (12) for the second time in four games. It was also the third time this season Tucker didn’t score. While plus-minus isn’t always a perfect metric, it certainly reflects the reality Tucker is mired in a particularly cold stretch.
