Former Maryland forward Jordan Williams was picked by the New Jersey Nets in the second round of the NBA Draft on Thursday.

Williams, who declared for the draft after his sophomore season, averaged 16.9 points and 11.8 rebounds last season for the Terrapins.

It marks the second straight year Maryland has a player picked (Greivis Vasquez). Williams is Maryland’s first second-round pick since James Gist in 2008.
