Maryland’s regular season came to a close Saturday with a 74-60 loss to Virginia at Comcast Center.

As a result, the Terrapins’ ACC tournament seeding hopes are pinned on how Miami does in its visit to Georgia Tech on Sunday.

If the Hurricanes win, Maryland will get a rematch with Virginia in the tournament opener. If Miami loses, then Maryland will be the No. 7 seed and play in the evening session on Thursday in Greensboro.

The updated scenarios for all 12 teams:

DUKE (13-2 ACC)

* The Blue Devils will be the No. 1 seed with a win over North Carolina
* The Blue Devils will be the No. 2 seed with a loss to North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA (13-2 ACC)

* The Tar Heels will be the No. 1 seed with a win over Duke
* The Tar Heels will be the No. 2 seed with a loss to Duke

FLORIDA STATE (10-5 ACC)

* The Seminoles will be the No. 3 seed

CLEMSON (9-7 ACC)

* The Tigers will be the No. 4 seed. Clemson would hold the three-way tiebreak at 2-0 in a minigroup with Boston College (2-1) and Virginia Tech (0-3)

VIRGINIA TECH (9-7 ACC)

* The Hokies will be the No. 5 seed with a Boston College loss
* The Hokies will be the No. 6 seed with a Boston College win

BOSTON COLLEGE (8-7 ACC)

* The Eagles will be the No. 5 seed with a win
* The Eagles will be the No. 6 seed with a loss

MARYLAND (7-9 ACC)

* The Terrapins will be the No. 7 seed with a Miami loss
* The Terrapins will be the No. 8 seed with a Miami win

VIRGINIA (7-9 ACC)

* The Cavaliers will be the No. 8 seed with a Miami loss
* The Cavaliers will be the No. 9 seed with a Miami win

 

MIAMI (6-9 ACC)

* The Hurricanes will be the No. 7 seed with a win
* The Hurricanes will be the No. 9 seed with a loss AND an N.C. State loss
* The Hurricanes will be the No. 10 seed with a loss AND an N.C. State win

N.C. STATE (5-10 ACC)

* The Wolfpack will be the No. 9 seed with a win AND a Miami loss
* The Wolfpack will be the No. 10 seed with a loss OR a Miami win

GEORGIA TECH (4-11 ACC)

* The Yellow Jackets will be the No. 11 seed (lose tiebreaker to N.C. State, would hold tiebreaker over Wake Forest by virtue of defeat of North Carolina)

WAKE FOREST (1-14 ACC)

* The Demon Deacons will be the No. 12 seed (would lose tiebreaker to Georgia Tech in possible tie at 3-13 by virtue of Yellow Jackets’ victory over North Carolina)
