Maryland lacrosse coach John Tillman does not intend to tip his hand on whether either of his top two scorers will play Sunday in an NCAA tournament first round game at North Carolina.
Both Grant Catalino (undisclosed injury) and Joe Cummings (right arm) sat out Saturday’s 10-8 loss to Colgate. Both players were injured during the ACC tournament three weekends ago.
“We’re hopeful,” Tillman said. “They’re making progress. We’ll see. I have to make sure I protect my guys. But I’m optimistic right now. We’ll see what happens. Every day, they make some progress. We’ll see what the doctors say today, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed.”
And as for whether they’ve practiced?
“They’ve been out on the field with us,” Tillman said. “I’ll leave it at that.”
