Maryland quarterback Danny O’Brien will miss the rest of the season after breaking a bone “in his upper arm,” coach Randy Edsall said after the Terrapins’ 45-21 loss to Notre Dame.
O’Brien was injured in the third quarter of Maryland’s setback at FedEx Field. He walked off while trainers helped hold up his left elbow. Sophomore C.J. Brown replaced him and finished the game.
With O’Brien out for the last two games, Brown is the only available scholarship quarterback. Walk-on Troy Jones, the only other available quarterback on the roster, will presumably be Brown’s backup when the Terps (2-8) visit Wake Forest next week.
