Tidbits from Randy Edsall’s penultimate Sunday teleconference of the season (Maryland typically doesn’t do one in years when there isn’t a bowl game to look forward to) …

* Danny O’Brien has a broken bone in his upper arm … or exactly what he tweeted very early this morning. Edsall said O’Brien is not scheduled for surgery “at this point.”

* Tony Logan will be Maryland’s emergency third-string quarterback over the next two weeks. The senior wideout played quarterback in high school and has served as a last-ditch option at various points in his college career.

* Edsall noted Maryland’s 10 tackles for loss and three sacks on defense as positives. Notre Dame had surrendered only 34 TFL and five sacks all season before Saturday.

* There was not much learned about walk-on Troy Jones, who figures to be C.J. Brown’s backup at quarterback for the next two weeks.

“He’s a young man that’s never played before, a young man who’s come here as a walk-on who’s working very, very hard and has learned a lot from a mental standpoint but has never been on the field for us,” Edsall said.
