WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Maryland center Bennett Fulper’s streak of 17 consecutive starts ended because of a pulled hamstring.

Redshirt freshman Sal Conaboy – whose experience was limited to a cameo against Miami and garbage time against Towson – played center for the Terrapins in their 31-10 loss to Wake Forest

Conaboy was called for a false start on a fourth-and-2 at the Wake 35 on Maryland’s first possession of the game. The Terps subsequently punted.

“Just from what I could tell, I thought he probably did a pretty good job, but I’ll have to look at the film,” coach Randy Edsall said. “There’s one where we lose Bennett on Thursday in practice. We’re doing special teams and he’s over there doing a drill with the offensive line they do every Thursday. He slips and does a split. Boom. Hamstring gets pulled. Whatever could go wrong, has gone wrong.”
