GREENVILLE, N.C. | Virginia Tech offensive lineman David Wang suffered a fractured right foot in the first half of Saturday’s 17-10 victory at East Carolina and is expected to miss between eight and 10 weeks.
A school spokesman said Wang will undergo surgery. If Wang returns in eight weeks, he could be ready for Virginia Tech’s Nov. 10 game at Georgia Tech. The 10-week prognosis would cost Wang everything until the regular season finale at Virginia.
The sophomore, who is Jaymes Brooks‘ backup at right guard, played 29 snaps in the Hokies’ opening victory against Appalachian State last week.
