Maryland announced last week the indefinite suspensions of wide receivers Quintin McCree and Ronnie Tyler.

Coach Randy Edsall has yet to decide just when “indefinite” might end.

“They have to regain my trust for what they did,” Edsall said Sunday. “It could be two weeks, it could be four weeks, it could be six weeks, it could be the whole season. It’s going to depend on them – if they can determine or show me that they can be trusted to do everything the way it’s supposed to be done, then they’ll have the opportunity to be back on the field. … The ball’s in their court in terms of how bad they want to be a part of this team.”

Tyler was arrested for second-degree assault in College Park early Thursday. A campus police spokesman said McCree was present during the altercation but was not arrested or charged with anything.

Both sat out Saturday’s 37-31 loss to West Virginia.

Edsall said both seniors will continue to be involved with the program from a practice standpoint but must handle their academic, social and football obligations “right” or else “they won’t ever have the opportunity to be back on the field playing.”
